It’s where you can donate towards our work through buying alternative gifts - from cows and goats, to happy homes and magic muck! Children also respond really well to virtual gifts and many teachers have asked pupils not to buy them candles and cuddly toys at the end of term, but to buy a Send a Cow gift instead. Build an African Farmyard - ideal for Harvest
Learn and fundraise in this exciting art project

‘Build an African Farmyard’ is a fundraising and learning resource that’s all about creating a fantastic wall display of an East African farm (it’s perfect for a Harvest topic, but also great all year round). We provide you with the information, ideas and illustrations of the elements on the farm to photocopy, colour in and add textiles to… and your class learn, have fun and raise money - simple!
Go to the Build an African Farmyard page on the Send a Cow website to find out more, download the pack and order the display poster (you can also order the poster here).

Follow a family out of poverty
Become a Family Friend at your school

‘Family Friend’ is a fantastic way to bring the real lives of an African family right into your classroom or staffroom! By giving a minimum of £10 a month, you can become a Family Friend and share a family’s journey out of poverty. We will send you regular updates, letting you know what is happening with the family that we are featuring, learning more about the country of your choice, and seeing the incredible effect that your money has for the family, and others like them. You might find it easier to club together with other staff or classes to do this, and then you can also share the experience together. You can chose to follow a Family in one of three countries - Uganda, Rwanda or Ethiopia.
Find out more about ‘Family Friend’, or call us to ask us about it. -

Sponsor a Sunflower Kits
Sponsor a sunflower for Send a Cow - the tallest wins!

Add a splash of colour to your home or school garden by ordering our Sponsor a Sunflower Kit. Growing sunflowers is a great activity for children to do over the Summer Holidays as they grow so quickly (taking between 75 and 90 days), with the Russian Mammoth sunflowers growing up to 12ft tall! As the sunflowers climb higher, your children will be helping African families and learning about why they grow their sunflowers too. You can use the sponsor form provided if you want to use your own sunflower seeds and the images from our sunflower gallery to make a classroom display. Find out more by visiting our sunflower kit page, and order a kit for just £5 by calling us on 01225 874 222, or using the order form.
