It’s where you can donate towards our work through buying alternative gifts for your friends and family - giving things from cows and goats, to harvest training, trees and bicycles! Children also respond really well to virtual gifts and many teachers have asked pupils not to buy them candles and cuddly toys at the end of term, but to donate towards a Send a Cow gift instead. Growing sunflowers is a great activity for children to do over the Summer Holidays as they grow so quickly (taking between 75 and 90 days), with the Russian Mammoth sunflowers growing up to 12ft tall! As the sunflowers climb higher, your children will be helping African families and learning about why they grow their sunflowers too. You can use the sponsor form provided if you want to use your own sunflower seeds and the images from our sunflower gallery to make a classroom display. A healthy way to fundraise for Send a Cow
Miles4Moos is a healthy way for schools and groups to help raise funds for Send a Cow. By walking, cycling, running, or even hopping to clock up some miles you can raise funds for livestock gifts from cows to bees. You could link your event to the distances that African children often have to walk to get to school or fetch water. The pack includes a poster, advice leaflet and a sponsor form to photocopy. Cane Rats help to put an end to the hunting of bushmeat in the rainforests of Cameroon by giving families a source of protein and income - removing the need to hunt endangered species such as gorillas and monkeys.
