The files listed in this area help explain what Send a Cow does and give examples of people who the charity has helped. There are Powerpoint presentations about our work, animations and many children’s stories (some are presented for kids on Cowforce.com). They are useful for assemblies, class presentations and fundraising. Use the menu on the left to quickly find specific resources that you’re looking for.

    You can order this poster using the Order & sign-up page. It is for use in schools, groups, churches or wherever you want people to find out about Send a Cow’s work. The poster includes examples of how we work in three countries and has a map of Africa showing the countries that we work in, all with the theme of ‘Pass it on’ - a key part of why our work is so successful.

  2. Rose’s story

    Rose is an 11 year old from Rwanda

    Rose’s story

    Rose is a young Rwandan girl who survived the 1994 genocide with her brother Fidele. Her story shows how new life and hope has come into their family since being given a cow and training in natural farming methods. You can meet Rose and find out about her day on Cowforce.com. There are also games that Rose plays included, the circle game and Bounceball. The .kmz file is a short Google Earth Tour showing where Rose lives (click on it if you have Google Earth, then click on the sub-folder and play.)

    Janvier’s story focuses on the importance of the manure from his cow and the bumper harvest of vegetables that comes from his healthy soils. He lives with his brothers and sisters as an orphan headed household.

    Our brand new ‘Cabbages and Cowpats’ DVD has been produced for primary schools and group use. It features short films about children’s lives in Lesotho, African gardens and Send a Cow’s work in Africa.     If you are doing a project on African countries, or are supporting Send a Cow in some way - get children to locate the countries using these maps. Useful for photocopying to A3 to annotate for display and in two versions - with country names and without.     If you are supporting Send a Cow in some way, or running an event, this sheet will give children something fun to colour in and take home. It is taken from the CowPower animation and very simply sums up how a cow can help a family in Africa. A PowerPoint file of the animation is included too.

    As well as Cabbages and Cowpats, we also have some free DVDs that are suitable for older pupils or to help enthuse staff about Send a Cow’s work. There are three to choose from: Organic Farming in Eastern Uganda, how people, land and animals live in harmony; our Rwanda DVD, about life for genocide survivors and our Lesotho & Ethiopia DVD, highlighting different approaches, like keyhole gardens, used when working in upland areas.
