Fun ratty lesson and fundraising ideas

    Cane rats in conservation

You can have lots of fun with this ratty lesson! Cane Rats help to put an end to the hunting of bushmeat in the rainforests of Cameroon by giving families a source of protein and income - removing the need to hunt endangered species such as gorillas and monkeys. The link to the great little animation below can be used to explain the issues involved. The pdf file also includes some interesting fundraising activities if your class want to raise the amount it costs to provide a Cane Rat and training - £32.50 - see our gifts site link below to purchase this ‘gift’.

    Animal and other gifts information

These sheets give background information on all the livestock and training ‘gifts’ that we give in Africa, contained in our gift catalogue. So, if you are raising the amount it costs to provide a family a specific animal or type of help, then these may be of use to you in the classroom or as facts for use in an assembly. To visit the gifts website, see the link below. You can also show pupils what we give on that section of our kids site Cowforce.com.
